The Vienna Airway Lab was represented at the ORL Danube Symposium 2026, held in Belgrade, Serbia, from 22–24 October 2026, by Dr. Tina Bartosik.

During the scientific programme, Dr. Bartosik presented the new 2026 EUFOREA Pocket Guide on Biologics in Upper and Lower Airway Diseases, developed by EUFOREA expert teams based on international guidelines. She also provided an overview of current therapeutic options and the availability of biologic treatments in Austria.

From a rhinological perspective, biologic therapies have become an increasingly important part of the multidisciplinary management of severe chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). The presentation highlighted the importance of an integrated approach to upper and lower airway diseases, as well as the growing role of personalised treatment strategies in patients with type 2 inflammatory airway disease.

The symposium also offered an excellent opportunity for scientific exchange and discussion with colleagues from across Eastern Europe. Sharing clinical experiences highlighted both common challenges and differences in local healthcare structures, treatment availability and therapeutic approaches.

International scientific exchange and collaboration are essential to advancing rhinology and improving outcomes for patients with complex airway diseases.

The Vienna Airway Lab is pleased to contribute to these discussions and to support the dissemination of evidence-based knowledge and innovative treatment approaches in rhinology and airway medicine.

Congratulations to Dr. Tina Bartosik for her excellent contribution and for representing the Vienna Airway Lab at this international meeting.
