From Dedication to Celebration: A Memorable PhD Graduation at MUW

Yesterday, the Medical University of Vienna held its official PhD graduation ceremony at the beautiful Konzerthaus — a truly fantastic and dignified venue for such an important academic celebration. The evening was marked by a sense of pride, achievement, and joy after years of dedicated research and perseverance.
Among the graduates was Mo Zghaebi, who is now officially a PhD holder. I am incredibly proud of Mo for reaching this milestone. Witnessing the development of a doctoral student — from the early stages of exploring new ideas to the confident defense of their thesis — is one of the most rewarding aspects of academic life. Congratulations, Mo, on this outstanding accomplishment!
My sincere thanks go to MUW, not only for arranging such an impressive ceremony, but also for providing a scholarly environment that encourages mentoring, open dialogue, and the growth of independent thinkers. It is a privilege to work within an institution that values intellectual curiosity and academic development so highly.
As a supervisor, each PhD journey is unique. One of the most remarkable moments is seeing students gain the confidence to challenge my ideas as critically as I challenge theirs. That is the true sign of scientific maturity, and being part of that transformation is incredibly fulfilling.
Once again, heartfelt congratulations to Mo on this significant achievement. The ceremony at the Konzerthaus was not only a celebration of years of dedication but also a starting point for new possibilities and future contributions to science.
